GETTING BACK TO SENSIBLE EATING
It would be absurd to think that what we eat two to five times a day has no impact on our health and vitality. Every day, we give our body nutrients that take a direct part in the biochemistry of our cells.
Food is far from the only lever: sleep, movement, stress management, our environment and our relationships with others also play an essential role. But it has one special feature: several times a day, we can choose what we give our body.
And yet we've never been so lost. Never so much access to information, and never so hard to tell truth from fiction. "Vegan" doesn't necessarily mean "healthy"; "vegetarian" doesn't necessarily mean "balanced". By trying so hard to follow rules, we've sometimes lost sight of what matters most: good judgement.
HOW DO WE EAT?
At Odakare, we're mostly vegetarian day to day. But that doesn't mean we see meat as a food to be banned. We think the question is more nuanced: which meat? How much? How often? And how was the animal raised and fed?
When we choose animal products, their quality and origin matter. It's not about building a diet out of prohibitions, but about rediscovering a sense of awareness and respect: for our body, for food, for animals and for our environment.
FOOD AS A PASSPORT
Eating isn't just about feeding ourselves. Food is a passport to local cultures, traditions, seasons, regions and expertise. It lets us travel without taking a plane. It tells the story of a region, a family, a history. It brings people together.
And it is deeply emotional. We eat with our brain, but also with our eyes, our nose, our mouth, our memories and our heart. We can't separate what we eat from what we feel.
That's why eating well should never be a punishment. When an approach relies solely on restriction and guilt, it often ends up being counterproductive. Health can be joyful. Nutrition can be delicious. Wellbeing can be sensory.
WHAT WE WANT TO BUILD
Our ambition isn't to give you a new list of rules. We want to help bring simplicity, good judgement and common sense back into the way we look after ourselves.
This philosophy guides our food supplement ritual. And tomorrow, it will also guide how we imagine new food and nutrition products, because "healthy" shouldn't mean sad, beige or joyless.
We want products that are fun, uplifting, vibrant, beautiful and delicious, that make you want to take care of yourself. Because taking care of your health doesn't mean putting your life on hold: it means giving yourself the means to live it better, for longer. With flavour, pleasure, connection. And above all, joy.
